The First Christian Church in Indiana is a mainline protestant congregation affiliated with the Disciples of Christ. Its distinguishing feature is communion every Sunday, and its minister, Jerry Hoch, is an excellent preacher who tends to emphasize daily living in adherence to Biblical teachings. Some focus is placed upon people in need of prayer. New attendees will find the congregation on the small side – normally 50 to 70 each Sunday. Members are, however, friendly and welcoming will be offered by at least four or five individuals who make it their business to greet each attendee each Sunday. The service itself tends to be standard protestant in structure. A member introduces the service with a hymn of praise and a scripture reading. Typically that portion of the service is followed by the collection, sermon, communion and ending. Hymns tend to be common and popular. One could do a lot worse in Sunday worship as it affects everyday life. Of course new members are welcome.
Bible studies on Wednesday on Thursday are very popular and led by the minister.Added January 30, 2017 by A Google User
